Hi Sel Many thanks. We have had a look at the flat downstairs which is also nice, as we'd love to come back one day, maybe with friends or family. We've had a great holiday and love the house and pool. It was also nice to meet you and your family. Not looking forward to the journey home. Margaret Morris 16/08/14 U.K.
Dear Sel, Thanks for a wonderful holiday. We have had a lovely time here and are feeling sad that this is our last night. Georgina Benton U.K. 22/08/14
Dear Sel, We are leaving now the villa. We've had a wonderful time and enjoyed both the pool, the house, the surroundings and the beautiful sea. Datca is a lovely place, I just hope you will keep it that way for as long as possible.I have left the key in the green basket at the terrace entrance door in the first floor. Andrei, Romania. July 2014
Hi Sel Just a quick note to say we had a great time at the Villa and loved every minute of our holiday. The kids did not want to leave the pool and eating on the terrace and the garden with those incredible views was just fantastic. We hope we can come back soon! Thorunn, Hekla, Eslefur Baldursdottir. Iceland, September 2013
Dear Sel Having arrived safely back in England we are telling all our friends about the wonderful Villa Olive Garden and what a great time we had in Turkey. The villa perfect for us and the pool and views from the villa were just incredible. We loved the Turkish food and friendliness and hospitality of the people we met and are really pleased we discovered this wonderful part of Turkey. Tanya, Robin, April. August 2013 U.K.
Hi Sel We had a great holiday at Villa Olive Garden, the house was great. Big enough for all the family and very comfortable. The pool was bliss, the kids spent the whole time jumping in and swimming while we watched from the terrace. Great villa and lovely village nea by. We hope to come back this year! July 2012, Lucy Buxon, U.K.
Lovely, comfortable traditional villa, spacious, clean and full of character. We spent a week at Villa Olive Garden and did not want to leave. The views from the veranda, gardens and pool are just stunning. If you are looking for a holiday in the real Turkey this place is for you. Locals are extremely friendly and hospitable, lots of sun and great food! September 2011 Nalan U.K..
A lovely villa, sea views, very comfortable, lovely pool. I would like to say that our holiday was outstanding. A truly awesome view, a brilliant location from which to explore this unspoilt region. The rooms are cool even in mid July and very well equipped. The house was in a wonderful surrounding and quiet . The owners was so helpful and has thought of everything to make our holiday perfect. We loved every minute of our stay and are hoping to go back to Villa Olive Garden again next year. It is well equipped with a good kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine. Great views over the bay. The locals are very friendly, and the location feels very safe. We hired a car, which I would say is pretty essential to get around during the day- the best supermarkets are in the town, and there are plenty of places to visit in the area, such as Kinidos and Old Datca Beautiful Villa - met all our expectations. Would stay again. June 2011, J. Prokes U.K..
We found the villa by chance on the internet having been recommendedthe Datca Peninsula by friends and stayed in June 2011. What a find! The whole area is truly stunning and we had a wonderful holiday. Theviews as you drive from Datca to Musudiye are especially breathtaking. The villa is about 15 mins drive from the main town of Datcabut we spent most of our time in the beaches nearby and only wentthere a couple of times to visit the supermarket and the spring lake. You can have a nice massage under the mini waterfall. The villa is really charming and comfortable and makes you feel youare part of the real Turkey. The gardens are beautiful and spaciousbut with all sorts of fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers notforgetting the Olive trees! The kids loved the pool so much it washard to get them out. We had the master bedroom with the on suite, waking up to the views from the window is something I will not forgetand being able to walk out on to the upstairs balcony and into thekids room was a great way to start each morning. There is a largemodern family bathroom as well and big kitchen with everything youneed especially a dish washer! The satellite stations are mostlyforeign so bring some of your own DVD’s to keep the kids amused. The kitchen and living room open up on to the large veranda where wespent most of our time eating fresh bread and enjoying thesurprisingly good Turkish wine. Wonderful to sit out here in theevenings and look out at the stars. Thanks to Sel, Harun and Nermin for helping whenever we needed it and making us feel like part of the family. We loved joining in thesinging and dancing at Eytay, hopefully see you next year! June 2011, Pelin,Ozaydin U.K.
Great place to chill out and relax, about 10 cars per day pass by, total peace and quiet. On a no moon night, you can see the milky way and other stuff in the sky, no light polution from towns, as no towns are nearby. Sel and her family are most helpful and attend to any issue quickly and cheerfully, the pool light times were adjusted to suit my star gazing. Any language issues are easy with Google translations. Free Wifi is at the house and in many restaurants. Get a turkish sim cars to make phone calls with, roaming costs a fortune. Do not go if you have mobility issues, the whole area is hilly and all houses are built onto/into hillsides. This makes for stunning views from both balcony and terraces, but makes for steps and stairs. Stair gates for kids are fitted. Pool is great, clean and warm, with wicked view from the lilo. House has 3 WC and 3 showers, one with bath under, and fourth shower in the garden. The garden is great and stocked with fruit and vegetables for use of the guests: tomatoes, peppers, onions, aubergines, melons, pomme granate, quinces, apples, lemons, mulberries, oranges, olives, ... sure there were a few more I didn't remember. Hose and sprinkler keeps stuff watered, I really enjoyed keeping things green and fruitful, but that was my choice and is NOT compulsory! Wildlife on the doorstep: swallows, falcons, jays, wild pigs if you leave the rubbish out at night (hmm, the clear up in the morning..., other bait would make them show if you are real quiet at night, they are skittish and shy), snakes, (again they are really shy and the tremble of a foot step will make them scoot under walls etc), crickets galore, and ants will show if you leave food out for prolongued periods, like in all hot countries. The drive into Datca for banks or boat trips is quicker than it looks, but drive close to your side of the road, as many Turks drive in the middle but not noticed any accidents, inshallah! Mesudye has a small village shop which stocks the the essentials and is well worth supporting, as with a fair few holiday houses they need the business to keep going. The fruit and veg man calls at the shop Monday and Thursday lunch times, and his selections is of stunning quality and much lower price than Migros in Datca. The potatoes we bought there were the best roasters/fryers ever. The shop is open all hours day and night we've driven past and even when locked, someone quickly came with a key.A car is a must to take advanatge of all the area has to offer. Knidos is not far, and many more small villages are on the peninsula. All the locals are really friendly, no hard sell, and great hospitality. When we stopped to watch the almond harvest, handfuls of almonds were pressed on us, all understand hand and foot language, some speak english. you will find turkish hospitality at it's best, not the hassle and hustle of the towns like Marmaris. Boat trips go from Datca as well as from the village, but the cost is the same and the trips are longer going from Datca. The food in all the restaurants is good, we haven't had a bad meal anywhere, prices half of Marmaris seafront, which we visited just once to remind us why we didn't go there. Fresh fish has been the best we've eaten, the meats are delicous and the variety of salads is amazing. Sel's mum is a great cook and happy to prepare meals in the house. Even the teenagers, 13 and 15 were happy with the location. The sea is just beautiful, do get a mask and snorkel, there is so much life in the sea, it's amazing. I would definitely consider going again. Edda Stentiford, Auugst 2011 U.K.
We much enjoyed our peaceful holiday in this lovely place and appreciated the comfort of this well equipped home. Thank you for sharing it with us and making us feel so welcome. We much apreciated the friendship and help from your wonderful neighbours Deidre, Kelly and Ian Byatt 17th to 22nd June 2010 Birmingham UK.
We've had fantastic first week in Turkey here at your very specious and comfortable villa. The view from the veranda is spectacular. With the lounger barring access to the steps we have practically lived out on the veranda all week. Isabel's swimming has come on leaps + bounds while we've been here. We enjoyed the beaches of Kara Incir , Hayit Buku, Ova Buku and Palamutbuku. We 're amazed Datca Peninsula has refined all its charm despite an easy drive from Dalaman airport. Long may it continue. 3-10th July 2010 Phil , Charlotte , Isabel Freya Masterson Tonbridge Kent UK.
It was hot but I love the pool- Bella(aged 10) midnight swim and the restaurant Ortam Kittens were my favourite Johnny(aged 5), We've all had such a wonderful and relaxing holiday! The wonderful views from the verandah were unexpected and we all made most of sitting, reading, eating +relaxing on it. We went to all the beaches and enjoyed each in a different way but it was the perfect being able to comeback to the comfort of Villa Olive Garden. The Area was just what we wanted, unspoilt, few British tourists and relaxed and quite. We do feel we found the perfect place here and all had best time - hope to be back one day. 17th - 24th July 2010 Sybil, Andrew, Bella +Johnny Mclaughan Gloucestershire UK.
For the second time we enjoyed your comfortable house with wonderful view, the quite area with Olive trees and the swimming pool. Thank you very much for the hospitality from you and your family. 24th July - 3 August 2010 Adri , Mia Doets Tienke Bouwes Edam Holland.
Dear Sel, Thank you for our fantastic holiday. The house , the area were wonderful. Particulary your family was very kindly and the hospitality was great. In the hotel of your parants we really enjoyed the delicious dinners and the sociability. We also loved the house, the swimmingpool, the stillness, the beaches, the nature , the boattrip to Knidos. We thank you and your family so much. And perhaps, i fit is possible, we return in the summer of 2010. With kind regards to you and your family. Adrie, Mia and Tienke ( fam Doets ) 06/ 2009
Dear Sel, Thanks for your email and yes we did have a wonderful time at the Villa and in Turkey. We really liked Datca and the Hotel and it was nice to meet your brother and mother and the rest of the family. (And yes your mother did get the family photo album out, so we feel we know you all very well!) We spent a few days in Istanbul at the end of the holiday getting back to England on the 19th August. We loved the villa, it was very comfortable and just right for our family. We had a super relaxing holiday and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Please give our best wishes to Fatih (wish him luck in England) and the rest of your family. Rachel august 2009
Oh yes it was fabulous, you've got a really lovely villa there. Thank your Mum for looking after us so well. Their place is very charming. She misses her grandchildren - seen the photos... Our little Eddie stood in as a temporary substitute for James :) Best Rgds Antony September 2009
Dear Sel, We are now safely back in Istanbul after a fabulous week in your house on the Datcha Peninsula. We had a ideal week with lots of swimming, snorkeling, reading and eating, the perfect holiday. Lucky you to have such a great house in such a stunning location we are all very jealous. Your family were charming and we were very grateful for the rocket your mother picked for us from the garden, please would you thank them for us. Andrew and Fiona Houlton august 2009
Sel We had a wonderful time at your villa. The location was so quiet and peaceful that it was worth the long drive. The pool is excellent and your family at the hotel really looked after us. we thought it was all excellent and we would recommend it to our friends. Dr David Walsh 07/2009
Hi Sel, Yes, we really did have a fantastic holiday staying at your villa and we are delighted that we found it on the internet! We have recommended it to family and friends and will go back ourselves! Firstly, please can you pass on a huge thank you to your family for their incredibly kind, warm and generous hospitality every time we went to the Hotel. They are such lovely people and we felt as though we were welcomed as part of the family. We were extremely comfortable in your villa and have no complaints at all. We spent a lot of time in the pool, day and night - it was fantastic. England has seemed so cold this week, after the extreme heat of our fortnight in Turkey; I've never before had a tan like this! Sitting on the patio daydreaming, reading, eating and drinking was thoroughly relaxing! Such a peaceful, unspoilt area and what a stunning setting; we went on a few fascinating walks, enjoyed some figs en route! We ate almonds from your garden and brought some home! It was fascinating to watch the local people picking almonds. The nearby beaches and coves are exquisite; so beautiful, unspoilt and crystal clear water; we particularly loved the one beyond Ovubuku. Datca is a delightful town; the Saturday market was fun; we had a great day scuba diving from here with the Datca Diving Club. We enjoyed the day we spent at Knidos, although it was probably the very hottest day of our holiday! There are quite a lot of restaurants to sample too! Our favourites were undoubtedly the Olive Garden Hotel and Ortam in Hayitbuku. Overall, we had a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would definitely like to go back. And we look forward to going to Mesudiye again! Thanks for everything. Love Jane." Jane Ryan August 2008.
Hi Sel, sorry for not writing sooner. Thanks again for letting us stay in your lovely villa! The Datca peninsula is a real gem - a genuinely unspoilt place with a stunning coastline, good food and friendly people. Villa Olive garden was perfect for a relaxing family holid ay and had everything we needed - the views from the pool and terrace were beautiful and the olives we picked from the garden and brought home were delicious! Datca harbour and Old Datca were definitely worth a visit, but the highlight for us was playing and swimming in the turquoise sea on a small beach that we h ad all to ourselves. Feel free to use all or some of this for the website, we have recommended t he villa to friends and hope to be able to come back some time! Thanks again. Lizzie Tattersall September 2008
